This is why we launched the Corporate Social Responsibility project through which we plan and execute initiatives that fulfill our role in social, economic, and environmental landscapes.

E-WASTE MANAGEMENT

As part of our ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, we at ITWORKS ME are committed to contributing to environmental preservation and promoting recycling. We believe that it is our responsibility to take a proactive role in reducing our environmental impact and ensure that we are doing our part to create a sustainable future.

With this in mind, we are pleased to announce that we have partnered with VerdeTech "the first full-service and the only licensed recycling company by the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Interior Affairs under the WEEE Directive (2002/96/EC)". This company "seeks to raise awareness on the urgency of acting to limit electrical and electronic waste and offers solutions sharing a common vision to protect the environment and live a greener and more sustainable life by abiding by the industry’s guidelines and norms". The services provided by VerdeTech are free of charge.

Through this initiative, we will coordinate between you, our clients, and VerdeTech to understand what type of e-waste you may have and when you wish to dispose of it.

We understand that e-waste management can be a daunting task, but we are committed to making the process as seamless and hassle-free as possible with no benefit from our end other than contributing to preserving our environment.

WHAT IS E-WASTE?

E-waste includes a wide range of products and covers six waste categories:

TEMPERATURE EXCHANGE EQUIPMENT

More commonly referred to as cooling and freezing equipment: refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, heat pumps.

BACKLIGHT DEVICES

Screens, monitors, televisions, laptops, notebooks, and tablets.

LAMPS

Fluorescent lamps, high intensity discharge lamps, and LED lamps.

LARGE EQUIPMENT

Washing machines, clothes dryers, dish-washing machines, electric stoves, large printing machines, copying equipment, and photovoltaic panels. Read more

SMALL EQUIPMENT

Vacuum cleaners, microwaves, ventilation equipment, toasters, electric kettles, electric shavers, scales,calculators, radio sets, video cameras, electrical and electronic toys, small electrical and electronic tools, small medical devices. Read more

SMALL IT AND TELECOMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT

Mobile phones, pocket calculators, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), routers, printers, telephones.

HOW VERDETECH WORKS

VerdeTech collects information about the type, location, and amount of E-waste.

VerdeTech makes sure that any unwanted data on the hardware is never used again, therefore, VerdeTech uses certified and accredited software which ensures 100% data erasure on all IT assets.

VerdeTech processes and recycles according to the Basel Convention.

VerdeTech makes record of every item received, and therefore their processes are transparent to all their partners.

VerdeTech stores properly in the warehouse which is located in Mkalles.

VerdeTech ships the stored items outside Lebanon.
